An Artist

An artist for thirty years, Napanee, Ontario native Sherry expresses her love of travel and life through colour and texture. Paintings are of acrylic, collage and mixed media, with subjects ranging from military, nautical, floral, landscapes, seascapes and abstracts. She has been fortunate to study under such prominent artists as Zoltan Szabo, Brian Atyeo, Jill Segal, Claudia McCabe and Donna Cameron.

Constantly studying, teaching and displaying her art, has led Sherry to become well known in the art scene of Eastern Ontario. She has been featured in many exhibitions throughout Southern Ontario including an exhibit with the Canadian Society of Marine Artists and “Art 2009”, an international Art Show in Toronto. Her work hangs in museums in Ontario and France and privately across Canada, the U.S., Australia and France. In 2006 Sherry found herself teaching school children high in the Andes of Peru.

Sherry is past president and current member of the co-operative—Gallery One-Twenty-One in Belleville, On. Other galleries include Picturesque Gallery, Napanee and Sidestreet Gallery in Wellington.

Currently, her newly launched book “All The Ship’s Men”, HMCS Athabaskan’s Untold Stories by Vanwell Publishing, displays her own cover design and paintings.

“Art is like a journey. You have to be ready to hop aboard and trust where the road will lead you.”
